Position
Summary:
The art therapist assess client needs or disorders, using drawing, painting, sculpting, or other artistic processes.
Conduct art therapy sessions providing guided self-expression experiences to help clients recover from or cope with cognitive, and emotional behaviors to help reduce anxiety, improve mood and facilitate positive transformation.
Duties &
Responsibilities:
Conduct art therapy sessions providing guided self-expression experiences to help clients recover from or cope with emotional and cognitive impairments.
Customize art therapy programs for specific clients and populations.
Confer with other professionals on client's treatment team to develop, coordinate or integrate treatment plans.
Applies a variety of mediums including, but not limited to drawing, acrylic painting, watercolor, collage, sculpture, photography, jewelry making, all aiming to foster wellbeing, practice hands on mindfulness skills, and implement creative expression.
Interpret the artistic creations of clients to assess their functioning, needs, or progress.
Talks with patients during art or other therapy sessions to build rapport, acknowledge their progress, or reflect upon their reactions to the artistic process.
Gather's patient information from sources such as case documentation, patient observation, or interviews with patient.
Performs other related duties as required.
Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise).
Experience:
Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.
Education:
Master's degree in related field is preferred.
License Certification:
Art Therapy Credentialing Board (ATCB) credential is required.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity is required.
Knowledge Skill Abilities:
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Skill in monitoring/assessing the performance to make improvements or take corrective action.
Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs.
Ability to establish goals and objectives.
Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
Knowledge of structured change management preferred.
Ability to manage and supervise staff required.
Position requires exercise of independent judgment.
Knowledge in recreational fields and ability in adaptive sports, personal fitness, arts and crafts, self-awareness groups, adventure-based therapy, and leisure skills.
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.
Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.
Physical Demands:
Job function requires extended standing or walking.
Must be able to carry objects weighing 21 to 50 pounds.
Able to lift or move objects weighing 51 to 100 pounds with the use of appropriate devices.
Jobs in this group require frequent visual acuity to perform activities related to extended use of computers.

Work Environment:
Jobs in this group are required to function in a fast paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent and stressful situations.
Frequent interaction with a diverse population including team members, providers, patients, insurance companies and other members of the public.
Function is subject to inside environmental conditions, with occasional outdoor exposures.
Exposure to various environments such as:
communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a hospital and medical office environment.
May also be exposed to needle sticks, airborne infections, medical gases, X-Ray, chemical exposures and other potential hazards.
Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when exposed to infectious/clinical hospital environment.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
